I bought the casserole to take to Crete so it needed to be lightweight. I was surprised at how light it was, plus it is excellent both on my ceramic (not by any means top of the range) hob and for oven use. This included roasting potatoes at 220 degrees. The pan is also non stick and easy for my husband to wash !!!!
