Like most pasta pots, one has to boil quite a lot of water as the insert strainer sits a little way from the bottom of the outer pot, but this is nowhere as extreme as other models I have used and the time taken to bring it to the boil can be greatly reduced if one fills it with a kettle of boiling water rather than cold.
The good points to my mind are:
It works well on my Aga
Is so much easier and safer to drain the pasta by lifting out the inner strainer than hovering over a colander in the sink
Secure when carrying it to the sink
Works particularly well with filled pasta so that the filling remains inside
Very easy to clean both the pot and the basket
Well made for the price
The only points that might receive some comment:
Would be just as functional were it to use less water
Like many 'stainless' steel cookware, it looks as if it might require polishing from time to time with a stainless cleaner for it to remain unstained (why do they not use a higher grade of stainless steel, after all, there are literally thousands of grades from which to choose?)
